Sudoku
Play Sudoku right in your browser - pick a difficulty and fill the grid using the on-screen keypad.
How to use the Sudoku
- Choose a difficulty from Easy to Extreme and click Run to start a new puzzle.
- Select an empty cell, then tap a number on the on-screen keypad.
- Fill every row, column and 3×3 box with the digits 1 to 9 without repeating any.
- You can make two mistakes; a third ends the round, and you can retry the same puzzle or start a new one.
How the Sudoku works
Each puzzle is a 9×9 grid with some cells already filled in. The rule is simple: every row, every column and each of the nine 3×3 boxes must contain the digits 1 to 9 exactly once. Puzzles are drawn from a library of grids for each difficulty, and harder levels start with fewer given numbers and require more advanced techniques.
Start by scanning for cells where only one digit fits, or for a digit that can only go in one place within a row, column or box. On Expert and above, look for pairs and triples of candidates that rule out options elsewhere. Each entry is checked against the solution, and the mistake counter tracks wrong guesses.
