How to use the Fuel Cost Calculator

- Click Run to see the liters of fuel needed and the total trip cost.
How the Fuel Cost Calculator works
The calculation is two simple steps:
Fuel needed = Distance ÷ Fuel economy (km/L)Trip cost = Fuel needed × Price per liter
For a 450 km trip in a car that does 15 km/L, you'll need 30 liters; at 1.80 per liter the fuel cost is 54.00. Double the distance for a return trip, and divide the total by the number of passengers to split costs. If your car's economy is quoted in MPG or L/100km, convert it first with the Fuel Economy Converter.
