Camel Case Converter
Convert text to camelCase, instantly in your browser.
How to use the Camel Case Converter
- Paste your text, for example user first name or user_first_name.
- Click Run to convert it to camelCase, giving userFirstName.
- Copy the result into your code.
How the Camel Case Converter works
The converter splits your text into words, treating spaces, hyphens, underscores, punctuation and existing case changes (as in userID or XMLParser) as boundaries. It then lowercases the first word and capitalizes the first letter of every following word, joining them with no separators.
camelCase is the usual convention for variables and functions in JavaScript, Java and TypeScript. For constants or database columns you may want snake_case instead, and for class names PascalCase.
